Current energy price update

Although the energy market remains volatile,  price movements have been slightly lower over the last few days, however with the unfolding uncertainty in Ukraine this may be temporary and the expectation within the market is that prices may start to climb again.

Market Update.

Gas: Strengthening Russian gas flows into Europe and a bearish weather outlook pushed NBP gas contracts lower on Friday. This morning most NBP gas contracts have opened lower following weaker trading within the carbon markets, however price volatility remains as the crisis in the Ukraine continues to evolve.

Power: UK power contracts weakened on Friday tracking the losses within the NBP gas market and expected strong wind generation. UK power contracts have opened lower this morning following the weakness within the carbon markets.
